“As you walk down the fairway of life, you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round”. Nestled in a valley surrounding the banks of the White River, this must be one of the most beautiful settings for a golf course.
With lush fairways (that are easy to play off), plenty of water and trees everywhere you look it’s no wonder that even the non-golfers who live in the surrounding estate love to spend their time here. The bird life is really quite impressive. Fish Eagles, African Harrier Hawks, Long Crested Eagles, Africa Jacana and many more can distract one from keeping eyes on the little white ball.
The Club is situated within White River Country Estate, a safe and secure environment. Anyone can become a member and all ages are welcome. Members of any Lowveld club are eligible for reciprocity discounts. The golf course is a favourite place for corporate events and fundraising golf days. Prestigious competitions and events including the 3-day Ladies Classic and the 5-day Easter Golf Festival keep things busy. All this is run efficiently by a strong team and they are fortunate to have a very involved committee.
Don’t forget, however, this is a Country Club and offers more than the beautiful golf course. Other sports attracting people to the club include hockey, cricket, squash and also tennis on 2 floodlit courts.
The cricket clubhouse is also a great spot available for parties.
Families are welcome at the pool and braai area and the restaurant offers delicious meals on the terrace overlooking the tree lined course – a great spot to catch up with friends and family and to crack open a cold one. The lucky residents of the estate can also get deliveries from the café to their front door.
The club has a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere which is enjoyed by members and visitors alike. Visitors are welcome at the club and with friendly staff and members, visitors feel right at home.
