“An established school with new ideas”
A first-time visitor to the Uplands Campus is sure to be impressed by the peaceful country setting and beautiful surroundings, and a walk around the campus will give you a sense of the rich history of Uplands, with the Prep opening in 1928 and the establishment of the College in 1997.
Situated on a picturesque, peaceful 110-hectare country estate in White River, Uplands is an independent co-educational school catering for pupils from Grade 000 through to Matric, with boarding from Grade 5 to 12. The school offers exceptional academic, sport, cultural facilities and results, equestrian centre and a caring boarding environment.
Children receive a broad-based education founded on Christian (Anglican) principles. They pride themselves on a forward-thinking, holistic and progressive curriculum, offered within a supportive yet disciplined environment. Small classes allow for individual attention, recognising and developing the unique potential of each pupil, and Uplands routinely attain a Matric exemption rate of above 90%.

Facilities on campus include an Astroturf which is widely used by both school and provincial teams. In addition, there are numerous other sports fields on campus, including three cricket ovals, two rugby fields, and numerous grass hockey fields, a learn to swim pool, two 25 metre swimming pools – one of which is heated, tennis courts, netball courts, two mountain bike courses, a gym and equestrian centre. A combination of exceptional facilities and dedicated coaching has resulted in a competitive and proud sports tradition with as many as 50 pupils being selected for provincial teams in various sporting codes.
Offering a fully integrated day, school starts at 07h30 and ends at 16h30 and students make full use of facilities such as fully equipped IT centres, outstanding art centres and fully equipped music centres, including soundproof practice rooms. Pupils are extended academically with the opportunity to participate in the annual Nelspruit Eisteddfod; Debating; Toast Masters; English-, Afrikaans-, Mathematics-, Science- and General Knowledge Olympiads; Science expos and regular excursions and tours.
