Sanna Atherton: “By nature, children are inquisitive and driven to learn new things and skills. They all have unique interests and passions as well as their very own learning style. We strive to understand each individual child and the wishes, hopes and fears each family joining us has for their children so that we can truly be a part of their team.”
Freerange Education Learning Centre was opened in January 2016, founded by Sanna Atherton. She desired a learning environment, where her children could range free and do what children do naturally – explore their world, be adventurous, learn as they go along, make a mess and play. Sanna has gathered a like-minded team around her and the learning centre is going great guns, fuelled by passion, enthusiasm and fun.
The tutors at Freerange, believe in learning through hands-on, spontaneous real-world experiences. Recognising each young person as an individual, they strive to support each child’s path towards self-discovery and nurture an attitude of love for lifelong learning.
Would you like to homeschool or unschool your child, but work commitments don’t allow you enough time? Is your child struggling to fit in at a mainstream facility? Then Freerange may be for you. They support homeschoolers aged 5 to 16 and, remarkably, the different age groups work together. When Freerange say they are taking a fresh look at alternative education, they mean it.
